ABSTRACT

“An alternative strategy for leading positive organizational change: Energize, Redesign, and Gel (ERG),” introduces the ERG framework. ERG, a research-based and practice-informed discipline, is a cycle of positive action and strategic learning over time that leads to sustained and effective change. “ERG strategizing: a professional approach to positive human resource and organization development consulting,” to capture its full potential, illustrates how a comprehensive and systematic diagnostic organization development can be strategically integrated with genuinely effective dialogic organization development to create a potent change process. The diagnostic-dialogic extension of the organization development approach to change is particularly successful in a volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambitious (VUCA) world of continual change. It positions strategic organization development optimally to be able to positively impact how change in organizations is led, to harness uncertainty and to get ready for tomorrow.
