ABSTRACT
In the digital age, what collaborative translation means and how participants collaborate have become more complex with the emergence of relatively new forms of translation. In the introduction chapter, I argue that translation has been a long-standing collaborative act. I explore various types of collaborative translation in both contemporary and historical contexts, as well as explain a plethora of terms used to designate collaborative translation taking place on the internet, thereby delineating the relevant terminology and locating the specific type of collaboration addressed in this book. In this chapter I also provide an account of methodological reflections and an overview of the remaining chapters.
