ABSTRACT

In the first chapter, the author focuses on the macro-causes of the phenomenon of cultural feedback. In the context of the reform and opening up in 1978, he discusses in detail how the younger generation became the trend setter of society because the knowledge and experience of the older generation had lost its value of inheritance. In other words, in the tide of social transformation, while the older generation was “crossing the river by feeling the stones”, the younger generation had already waded across the river with ease. In addition, due to a series of reasons, such as urbanization, population mobility, and the implementation of the one-child policy, the family orthocenter in Chinese society tended to tilt or shift down from generation to generation, and the younger generation became the center of first the family and then society.
