ABSTRACT
This chapter describes how PPIP has been adapted to working in community settings, picking up on some of the ideas discussed in Chapters 2 and 5 about the role of the social environment around parents and infants in supporting the earliest stages of their relationship. A case example is given of a community-based PPIP programme, New Beginnings, in which mentalizing theory has been an important influence.
