ABSTRACT

In the final chapter of Thought and Knowledge: An Introduction to Critical Thinking, 6th edition, we present messy real-world examples that show how many different critical thinking skills can be applied to a single problem. Multiple and diverse thinking skills are needed for the complex issues we face in life. A general all-purpose guide for thinking through real world problems is presented: (1) Is the information accurate? (2) What is known? (3) What are acceptable goals? (4Which thinking skills are needed? (5) Have you reached your goal?

In closing we conclude that critical thinking is needed now more than ever before in history. We ask if critical thinking can save the world, or at least, make it better. You are what you think. The final chapter is followed by a list of critical thinking skills with a description and example of each.
