ABSTRACT
I imagine the racial complex as a global network, an entangled web of forces laid down over centuries beneath the ground we now stand and move about on, which influences—even controls—our racialized identities and how we think and act in relation to others. Its existence, particularly the more deeply buried aspects that root way back into the history of our ancestors, is often invisible, especially to those of us with whitened eyes.
