ABSTRACT

In this chapter we draw together some of the principles and ideas developed throughout the book, and look at practical ways that middle leaders, in a range of educational contexts and settings, can practise their leading for educational development. The practical ideas and suggested practices will be outlined, and exemplified with cases and illustrations from real school middle leaders working in everyday educational settings. The ideas and practices outlined in this chapter will be theoretically robust, but presented in a pragmatic manner that allows middle leaders to understand, appreciate, and most importantly, practise leading, for curriculum and professional development with their teaching teams.
