ABSTRACT

The Theory of Change is based on common sense. The focus of this approach is on revealing the assumptions and the intermediate outcomes required to reach people's planned goal. The Theory of Change also encourages people to think of people's actions, output and outcomes all interconnected and working together as a single system. A systems-based view of what people are endeavouring to achieve is also invaluable to ensure longer-term and overall success. Iterative development is a common concept among developers, who aim to create and release their minimum viable product (MVP) as soon as possible. Google’s resources and its commitment of setting aside 20% of its staff time for “maker time” are also part of this iterative perspective towards development. Google and its activities present the example of an organisation with significant size and resources. The Google Ads account that people need to set up for YouTube is also one of the routes to monetising people's website.
