ABSTRACT
Relational therapy is based on experiences in the ongoing relationship. These experiences are immediate and concrete. In order to understand the patient, the therapist should stimulate him to describe relationships and experiences as concretely and specifically as possible. Generalizations of experiences may be useful for conceptual understanding and analytic arguments but not for the affectively charged narratives that give life to relational curiosity.
