There is a wave of tool recommendations to patients in contemporary psychotherapy. In relational therapy, it is rather the therapist who uses tools. In this chapter, some reflections on the combination of the patient’s experience and the therapist’s expertise, the crucial challenge in all psychotherapies, are presented.
