ABSTRACT

This introduction makes the reader aware of the main logics behind the major arguments in the present volume, which make the application of the theory of critical rationalism for the development of a new sociology of the open society possible. To this end, it first argues that how the reinvention of critical rationalism on the basis of a non-justificational epistemology, which was took place in the first volume of this book, allows us to define “a new micro-foundation” for the sociology of the open society. And, second, it shows that how different chapters in the present volume work together to develop the sociology of the open society. To this objective, the introduction briefly tells us how each chapter may contribute to the sociology of the open society.
