This chapter deals with strategies and tactics for constructively managing conflict. After revisiting the normative model for conflict management, approaches for navigating differentiation and integration phases are discussed. Then we discuss a general procedure for managing conflicts constructively. It is also important to consider how to address severe challenges to integration and several approaches are discussed, including how to manage deep transgressions. Formal organizational dispute management systems offer another route for managing conflict.
