ABSTRACT
Democracy is disrupted by globalization, and the solution is to globalize democracy. The era of representative democracy focused on sovereign national states is over. Democratic governance requires a new set of institutions at local, national, continental, and global levels able to respond to the challenges of an interdependent world.
