ABSTRACT

Humans are born immature. Love is what ensures care for the newborn despite the parental states of confusion, frustration, and exhaustion. Thus, the infant needs to remain desirable, and the same applies to the mother. Woody Allen, in his movie Zelig, acquired the traits that he believed would turn him into an object of desire. Being is being for an audience. Being desirable is always on the horizon. As suggested by participants’ narratives, the question of being desirable often has a hesitant reply.
