ABSTRACT
This chapter will provide more of an empirical aspect of coaching. Information will be based upon existing literature, but it is also from the author’s 30+ years of coaching experience. Differences in coaching styles from high school, collegiate, and professional ranks will be discussed. This chapter will not cover the “x’s and o’s” of the game of football, but primarily focus on coaching preparation, coach–player interaction, leadership style, and the responsibility associated with the position.
