ABSTRACT
Ethnographic scenes portray the course of settlement by British migrants in Alicante province, Spain, rural South West France, and Toulouse. They demonstrate who moved where, when, why, and to what consequence. In each case an historical sketch of their migratory patterns is provided and consideration of migrants’ specific reasons for leaving the UK, and for establishing themselves in their chosen locations. The chapter closes with comparative points.
