ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces readers to a number of the most common types of homicide and their prevalence, including but not limited to first- and second-degree murder, manslaughter, filicide, parricide, patricide, matricide, fratricide, uxoricide, eldercide, etc. Additional forms of homicide will be detailed with current research in the sections where the case studies deal directly with that particular form of homicide. Critical thinking questions allow the reader to be put in the place of the characters in the scenarios to see what, if anything, they might do differently in the given situation.
