ABSTRACT
Blacks have attempted to form coalitions with all ideological and demographic categories of the White population. A theory of minority–majority coalitions is outlined in this chapter, and various minority–majority coalitions are analyzed including the abolitionist movement, civil rights and black power movements, to present day efforts to maintain and expand various “rainbow” or multicultural movement coalitions from Black Lives Matter to the Me Too movements.
