ABSTRACT
This chapter examines the challenges of immigration and integrating immigrants into European countries. It documents problems faced by immigrants, strategies by some European countries to integrate them, and some economic and broader cultural effects of immigration. It devotes concerted attention to the 2015–2016 refugee crisis and efforts by the European Union to manage immigration.
