ABSTRACT
This chapter provides an overview of elites by discussing the concept of global elites and how such groups work to protect and perpetuate their own privilege. It specifically focuses on how globalisation and neoliberal economies have been associated with greater private investment within traditionally state-run education practices. The chapter examines how the experiences of students in our research are situated within this broader context.
