ABSTRACT
Drawing on theoretical perspectives of Bourdieu and critical race theory (CRT), this chapter provides a conceptual understanding of graduate students’ experiences of how they became students at elite universities. The chapter explores how the field of elite schools intersects with those of elite universities and the journeys of students from less privileged backgrounds who become graduates at elite universities.
