ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the development of theft crimes from larceny under early common law in England to more modern forms of theft, such as embezzlement, theft by false pretenses, and extortion. Robbery, receiving stolen property, and other crimes involving theft are discussed. Finally, this chapter addresses the crimes of fraud and forgery.
