ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the principles of successful note-taking, top five note-taking systems for college, development of students own note-taking style and usage of notes to become a top student. The five systems are The Cornell Method, The Mapping Method, The Outlining Method, The Charting Method, and The Sentence Method. The Cornell Method helps the students to organize material into a clear structure. As its name suggests, in the outlining method, the student will structure our notes in the form of an outline. In the charting method, the student will use charts and columns to organize information. The Mapping Method allows you to create a graphic, visual representation of information. In the sentence method, the student simply writes down one sentence to explain each key idea or topic discussed in class. This method works well for fast-paced lessons in which the professor covers a lot of information.
