ABSTRACT

This chapter helps students to find emergency financial assistance for tuition and/or books, disability services, legal or medical issues, computer and other technology problems and harassment or other unethical behaviors that the students encounter at college. It covers some of the most frequently encountered issues students face in college. If students don’t find students particular issue on the list, see the chart at the end of the chapter as a general reference for suggestions of places to go for help. Since financial concerns are often the most pressing for many students, let’s begin with those types of issues and where students can go for help with them. Get out a sheet of paper and at least two pens of different colors. With the first colored pen, make a list or a chart of any questions, issues, or problems the students are having now, or that the students anticipate having in the future.
