ABSTRACT

This chapter will discuss who should receive long-term treatment, and how to deal with a symptomatic crisis in a stable patient. The TRACCCC acronym will be explored in relation to patients who feel that their medication is no longer working. The chapter will go on to discuss missed appointments, how to deal with inappropriate requests, and how to evaluate whether or not newer medication is better. Finally, periodic reassessment will be discussed, including concurrence for a change of medication, and how to deal with conflicting advice from others.
