ABSTRACT
This chapter will discuss ADHD – described here as a diagnosis which is increasing rapidly. It will also look into the syndromes of ADHD, exploring the confusion around this. The causes of ADHD will be explored, as well as how it is diagnosed in children. ADHD in adults will also be covered in this chapter, including stimulant medication and its appropriate uses. The issue of a proliferation of new treatments and medications will be explored, as well as looking at other medications/alternative treatments used in ADHD.
