The prescriber and the telephone – mainstay and millstone

This chapter will explore the relationship between the prescriber and the telephone, including the importance of being available by telephone, and appropriate use of the telephone. The chapter will also cover boundaries around use of the telephone; for example, a patient who calls too frequently and how to handle this.
