ABSTRACT

This chapter sets out a range of opportunities for professionals who want to promote hope and wellbeing. This involves the development of new skills and aptitudes, some of which are explored here: data-driven digital design; holistic valuation, finance and procurement as well as the ability to support communities in the design and building of their own homes and neighbourhoods. Automation has to happen in conversation with people to ensure that it is advancing their cause. The chapter finishes with a reflection on the transformation that needs to take place within professional organisations if they are to embody the values that they claim to generate.
