ABSTRACT
Chapter 3 presents the author’s work with a diverse group of all-male refugees from different Global South countries, who were living in a refugee transitional center in Hamburg in 2015. The details of finding a location and participants for a workshop are addressed, as well as considerations of language and gender when recruiting participants. The applied theater techniques addressed in this chapter include creating group narratives, both verbal and physical. Additionally, the chapter presents tactics for starting a refugee workshop and work involved in materializing this particular set of sessions.
