ABSTRACT
This chapter deals with two remaining worries about getting rich. First, it shows that while status-seeking is indeed bad in itself, it nevertheless has surprising and hidden upsides. Second, it argues that there is no stopping point; there is no such thing as a society that is “rich enough.” The optimal amount of wealth is infinite.
