ABSTRACT
Chapter 4 examines the broader theological understanding of history, tradition, and creeds and how scripture, confession, and creeds relate as issues of theological prolegomenon. The chapter also discusses why tradition is important for theology, and examines why Protestants differ from Catholics and Orthodox Christians amid other ecumenical and non-evangelical constituencies.
