ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces the fundamental components of the Third Wave Strategy framework and its contribution to the realisation of transformational change. Alicia and Jenny prepared to conduct the scenario analysis in Security Printing and Packaging Division with input from a number of sources. These included the external consultant’s report and the views, concerns and observations from the individual members of the leadership team and other stakeholders and members of the T-wI corporate office. The task of recognising the value of a statement of purpose is made easier once practitioners understand and appreciate the reason to do strategy. A Strategy Narrative is representative of an ongoing oration rather than a static ‘to-do’ list. Content includes details of the reasoning, assumptions and expectations behind the Short Term Strategy, as well as intended outcomes. The content contained in the Strategy Narrative is informed by outcomes from the activities of Strategy Evaluation, Shaping and Strategy Evaluation, Reviewing.
