ABSTRACT

Everybody can conceptualise the difference between Long and Short Term Strategy. It is surprising, therefore, that a clear articulation of its structure and content is rarely articulated or understood. For most start-ups and entrepreneurs, as well as in corporations, new Chief Executive Officer’s commence their envisioning of Long Term Strategy with an understanding and articulation of their proposed transforming activities. A fundamental component of its strategy, therefore, is its education, nurturing and encouragement of specialist production designers upon whom the mass production and, thereby, the success of Lego’s entire range is dependent. Statements of Purpose, Mission, Vision provide the foundation for Long Term Strategy. The use of the body of knowledge that was presented from the scenario analysis played a big part in enabling their ‘big picture’ learning to continue and strategic discussions to progress.
