ABSTRACT

The formation of an Systemic Cognitive Strategy Practice team represents of the most significant departures from the notion of deliberate, static Strategic Planning as it has evolved into an emergent, systemic, dynamic practice. Addressing the concept of Strategy Evaluation in the context of a reinvention of Strategic Planning, the primary topics to be reviewed are Strategy Evaluation, Shaping and Reviewing, the notion of a Strategy Narrative, the conduct of deep strategic thinking and the establishment of a Strategy Blueprint. Contemporary strategy practice is traditionally conducted through the use of a mixed bag of tools and techniques. Strategy Evaluation is a methodology deployed to both formulate strategy and review its effectiveness post-implementation. The concept of Strategy Evaluation, Shaping, particularly in the form of strategy formulation tools and techniques, has long been a focus for academics and non-academics alike.
