ABSTRACT
Pontevedra sits within a coastal region with a humid oceanic climate. The masterplan of the Pontevedra city center shows that it is bounded by the Lerez river and automobile roadways. Positive outcomes can be speculated from published material, photographs, site observations. An outline of many of the biophilic pattern attributes follows: The Galician strategy for mitigating climate change is to reach the EU 2050 goal with a focus on climate awareness, decarbonization, and transition to renewable energy sources. The pedestrianization has produced opportunities and positive outcomes for biophilic urban experiences. During the Coronavirus pandemic, it has been beneficial to experience the outdoors through safe distancing in the wide pedestrian streets and numerous parks and plazas. The primary contribution to Biophilic Urbanism is its focus on pedestrianization; revitalization of its streets, parks and plazas; the social, cultural, historic activities.
