Whither of the Fairytale: Between Once Upon a Time and Ever After

I have a sense of moving-through huge buildings, on the ground floor, I come to the end. I reach a door. I open it and stand looking-out-on a vast landscape. I have a sense of reaching the end of something and experiencing something more, a wholly new vista.
