ABSTRACT
In Chapter 3, the reader will be introduced to the process of creation of the material dimension starting from its intellectual archetype as it exists in the mind of the Chaldean Demiurge. Attention will be given to describing how the Demiurge carries on the creation process by first contemplating the intelligible Ideas that exist in the Father’s Intellect to establish an intellectual copy of them in its own mind: this will in turn represent the archetypical model on the basis of which the material world will be created. As in the other chapters, even here Proclus’ exegesis will be thoroughly discussed and compared with what has been discovered by modern research on these aspects of Chaldean doctrine.
