ABSTRACT

The creation of man and the role that Chaldean doctrine and rituals can play in helping him to go back to the Father from his exile in the material dimension represents the core of this chapter. Here the reader will be provided with information on the specifics of Chaldean religion, including the type of relationship Chaldean initiates had with divine figures like the goddess Hecate and the rituals they performed. As in the previous chapters, Proclus’ exegesis of oracular fragments that deal with these topics will be discussed in order to ascertain to what extent this can help modern research to deepen its understanding of the Chaldean relationship with the divine.
