ABSTRACT

How many of us have worked in an organization where we didn’t understand what it was trying to accomplish? Setting direction for people and organizations is the highest priority for leaders because it meets a basic human need to have purpose and to be on a journey. Leaders have the tools necessary to set a clear direction and to get each and every member of their team on a fulfilling journey that promotes growth and autonomy. These tools include empowerment, interrogate reality, heed intuition, understand internal and external environments, proactively manage risk, set priorities and pace, promote well-being, and manage the spin.
