ABSTRACT

All practical management approaches include a set of assumptions, some of which are clearly stated but most of which are implicitly given. The assumptions on which synesis is based have been introduced in the six main chapters. This last chapter pulls them together and highlights the overall perspective or “world view” they represent. This nexus of necessary knowledge defines what is needed to manage changes in the systems and organisations we depend on today. While synesis is a convenient term, it is not a single concept, but rather represents a unification of multiple priorities and perspectives.
