ABSTRACT

Table 7.1 provides a novel analysis of items on a K-8 mathematics assessment. Given along with the correct response for each item are possible wrong answers and explanations of these wrong answers for teachers to consider. Table 7.1 serves as a heuristic for teachers to refer to when trying to figure out a student’s thinking. The remainder of the chapter presents assessment activities related to the Developmental Mathematics Curriculum and Generic Influences on Learning.
