ABSTRACT

Multi-family therapy for anorexia is always facilitated by a small team of clinicians. A minimum of two is required; however, the treating team may include a number of additional professionals with varying levels of experience, skill and knowledge. This chapter outlines the different roles team members take when facilitating multi-family therapy and how to work effectively together across treatment. Specific guidance is provided on the timing, frequency and content of team discussions before, during and after multi-family therapy for anorexia nervosa. The role of supervision of multi-family therapy is also discussed.
