ABSTRACT
Following the MLP framework, this chapter will compare and summarize the transition pathways, dynamic patterns and major transition characteristics of these eco and low-carbon new towns. A tentative taxonomy of the transition pathways and patterns will also be proposed regarding their variations on two dimensions (i.e. the degree of foreign involvement and central government support). However, since this is a small-N case study, the taxonomy is preliminary, and more future studies should be conducted to test such a tentative taxonomy.
