ABSTRACT

In this book, I argue that we can improve the quality of our worldview by seeking out true experts and using their testimony to answer big questions. In that spirit, here’s a list of expert sources that are useful for understanding the fake news crisis. Some of these are about the nature of the crisis (i.e. what it’s like), some are about its import (i.e. why it matters), some are about its explanation (i.e. how we got here), and others offer prescriptions (i.e. how we can fix it). I segregate the books and articles by heading into broad topics and my impression of their political leanings. I offer a brief annotation to each source that highlights what I think are the most important lessons of each. You’ll be able to find the books at any major online bookstore, and the academic papers are available by doing a Google search for the title. Happy reading!
