ABSTRACT
Chapter 10, The Future of Riyadh, concludes the book by answering key questions posed in the introduction: What are the main outcomes of the humanization initiative in Riyadh? Has it truly benefited its citizens and what is its future, given the enormous changes taking place in the city? To answer these questions ongoing developments, which include various megastructure and infrastructure projects, are reviewed. It is argyed that they represent a continuation of the humanization initiative. The chapter ends with a discussion on how Riyadh’s humanization programme can be further developed and how it can provide lessons for cities elsewhere.
