ABSTRACT
The six songs in this gateway recording are sung one after the other during a candomblé ritual. All of them are in call-and-response form. The lead singer, Jorge Alabê, sings the call and the three drummers (the “chorus”) sing the responses. The transcription shows the agogo bell part and the responses sung by the chorus in each song.
