ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses corrective and preventive action and describes the role of plant manager, environment manager, food safety manager, and employees. The responsibility of the plant manager is to appoint a review team. The responsibility of the employees is: to identify non-conforming conditions and reporting the findings to the QA Manager (quality issues), Environment Manager (environmental issues) or the Food Safety Manager (food safety issues); and to use the corrective action request form to report a non-conformance. Some of the issues that require corrective action are: customer returns and complaints, product or process failure, health and safety incidents, environmental incidents, unsafe product or process, service delay or failure, supplier failure Ideas from employees, and poor performance.
