ABSTRACT

The role of CEO is to appoint the Emergency Coordinator and to invoke the business continuity plan after the emergency. The role of Emergency Response Team (ERT) is: to develop the emergency response plan, to implement the response plan in case of an emergency, to identify and assess the impact of potential emergencies on food safety and the environment, to prioritise the emergency situation on the basis of seriousness and probability, and to submit results and recommendations for prevention and/or contingency actions to the Management Team. After potential emergency situations have been identified and prioritised, the ERT shall: establish short-term and long-term solutions to prevent or mitigate the consequences; select the most appropriate solution; test and evaluate these solutions and include them in the emergency response plan and training material.
