ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses inspection and test status of the product. The role of line staff is: to carry out inspection and testing during processing, identify the inspection status of the product and release conforming product to the next operation and to label and segregate non-conforming product for inspection by the QA Team. The role of inward goods supervisor is to identify all incoming goods for inspection by the QA Team or Engineers. The chapter defines in-process controls; laboratory tests; finished good inspection; and inspection at supplier’s premises. The standard may be an internal standard such as a colour standard or an external standard, e.g. checking labels against a standard sample. The company should maintain an in-process control manual and a laboratory manual that specify the competency requirements, references to validation (if applicable), resources required and the method of carrying out the test.
