ABSTRACT

This chapter explains how products are delivered to the customers. It defines the role of warehouse manager and warehouse person. The additional responsibilities of the warehouse manager are to ensure that all documents are correct and ready. The additional responsibilities of the warehouse person are to hand over delivery documents to the transporter and to communicate with the customer about the delivery. Products manufactured under mandatory regulatory Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) programmes have a signed release by the Food Safety Manager verifying that all HACCP records are complete, properly signed and that there are no Critical Control Point deficiencies before shipment. All delivery vehicles should be checked and inspected for condition, odour, sanitation and potential contamination sources. Inspection results should be recorded on shipping documents. Transport vehicles should not be cleaned in the facility as it can create a warehouse sanitation problem and a potential for pest access.
